About the Artist









Graduating from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1988 with a BFA in Visual Communications, Barb began her career as an illustrator. Some of her clients include Time Life, Reader’s Digest, Highlights for Children and Random House Publishing.

Upon returning from a trip out west several years ago, Barb decided to pursue a career in fine art. Since then, she has had numerous showings in the Baltimore/Washington area, including The Life of Maryland Gallery, The Howard County Center for the Arts and the Gudelsky Gallery in Washington D.C.

Most recently, Barb received the Lelia Gardin Sawyer Award for her sculpture, Plains Warrior. The Award was presented by the Catherine Lorillard Wolf National Art Club at Gramercy Park's Grande Gallery in New York City. Barb also received the Jack and Evelyn Miller Award by the Visual Arts Society of Texas for her work and was selected for a showing at the Meadows Gallery in Texas.

Barb lives in Maryland with her partner and their German shepherd, Dolly.
